Wild Sister

Last June, I began an exciting journey as a writer for the Wild Sister Magazine; a magazine that promotes community, self-love and authenticity. I was beyond excited and to this day, writing for Wild Sister remains one of the highlights of every month.

The only thing that’s more thrilling than writing for Wild Sister is reading the magazine (grab your copy here or win your copy by leaving a comment on this post*). It’s always amazing to see women share their brilliant thoughts, feelings and words of wisdom and I’m always left inspired and motivated to go and change the world.

Today, I’m honored to share an interview with the editor and founder of the Wild Sister Magazine, Jen Saunders!

Enjoy!

1. Tell us more about you, Jen. Who are you? What is it you do?

Well, I’m many things; writer, artist, soulful entrepreneur, wife, vegan, peaceful warrior… But mostly, I’m a woman who is passionate about helping other women fall in love with themselves, follow their bliss and change the world.

What I’m doing online is creating a movement, a revolution against media that tells women they aren’t good enough. [Click to tweet]

Myself and the Wild Sister team (yourself included Anne-Sophie :)) are providing an antidote to self-loathing by promoting body love, empowerment and sisterhood.

We’re doing that in the form of Wild Sister Magazine and the Wild Sisterhood – both a new breed of media: positive media.

2. How did you come up with the idea for the Wild Sisterhood and what’s your mission with it?

I wanted to create a space for all the readers and writers of Wild Sister Magazine to connect, a real community for like-minded women to come together and be inspired. Now it’s grown into something so much bigger than that, but my mission is still the same: to inspire women to love themselves, follow their bliss and change the world.

3. What is the Wild Sisterhood all about?

The Wild Sisterhood is all about the wild woman – women who are living life their own way and blazing the trail.

It’s a sanctuary for women of any age, race, size or shape to hang out and be free from the negativity of mainstream media. It’s an online community that offers empowering tools and resources (such as the monthly Wild Sister eMagazine and the 21 Days of Abundance eCourse) to help women grow into their power and nourish their minds, bodies and souls.

At the core of the Wild Sisterhood is the message that all women are beautiful, divine and powerful enough to create massive change – within themselves and the world.

4. What’s one thing you love about your life right now?

Just one? That’s a tough question. I think I’d have to say the sudden bursts of creative energy that have been flowing through me lately. All the ideas and plans to craft Wild Sister and the Wild Sisterhood into a powerhouse of positivity and an infinite well of resources for women who are ready to step into their greatness.

5. How do you show yourself love?

One of the most nourishing ways I show myself love is by smiling at myself in the mirror. It was the very first ritual I did when I started my self-love journey and years later I still do it everyday. It always gives me a loving zap of energy and warmth and boosts my happiness.

6. What’s one thing you wish you would’ve known 10 years ago?

That I CAN have happiness, health, love and success on my own terms. That it IS totally possible to do what you love and make good money at the same time. That my only limitations are those I put on myself. And you really can create your life.

7. How do you define success?

Success is waking up in the morning and being excited to get out of bed. It’s loving your work so much that it feels like play. And it’s knowing you’re using your life to be a positive force for good in the world. It’s loving fully and laughing loudly.

8. Can you recommend one book that changed your life?

There have been so many, but the most recent one is ‘Spirit Junkie’ by Gabby Bernstein. I bought it after she wrote a guest article for Wild Sister Magazine and it completely changed everything about my life. I experienced so many shifts and such a new level of awareness, I’ll definitely be reading it again soon.

9. What’s one action you’d like the readers to take to become a wild sister today?

Join the Wild Sisterhood, of course!

Thanks so much, Anne-Sophie! This was fun, and helped me become even clearer on so many things. Thank you!
