#4 - ShowcaseYourFavPart

Most of the time, when we think of our bodies, we think about all the things we don’t like, right?

We think about our muffin tops, our cellulite, our uneven teeth or our big noses. We focus on hiding all the things we don’t like and wonder how we’ll make it through our day without constantly worrying about our big butts, our thunder thighs or our flabby upper arms.

And I have to be honest. When I looked in the mirror this morning, I caught a glimpse of my upper arms and I had a moment of sheer HORROR. OMG, they’re so fat, ugly, disgusting – how in the world could I have let it come so far?

A ridiculous thought, I know. But it’s my brainwashed mind that still wants me to be super skinny ….

A year or two ago, I would’ve gone into a shit-storm of self-loathing and would have stopped eating for a few weeks. My day would’ve been ruined and all I’d have thought about were my arms and how much better my life would be if I had Heidi Klum’s beautiful, long, lean arms.

Today, none of that is happening.

Yes, I do experience some moments of body-shame, but I instantly refocus on how miraculous my body is, how proud I am of my body and how much I love her for doing all she does for me. AND instead of worrying about the things I don’t love, I am proud of all of my super sexy and hot parts – especially my beautiful baby bump, of course :). 

So, today, instead of fretting about the things you don’t like about your body, turn it around and focus on what you absolutely adore about yourself. In other words,  showcase your favorite body part and celebrate your closest ally in life.

Today’s challenge: Showcase Your Fav Body Part

Step #1: 

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Take a picture of your favorite body part and share it on the FB page (scary, I know; but you’ll feel incredibly good if you do it).
  • Wear super sexy underwear and feel how your self-confidence will go through the roof.
  • Wear your favorite clothes highlighting that body part (high heels to highlight your sexy thighs or a sleeveless shirt to showcase your beautiful upper arms are just a couple of thoughts).
  • Instead of engaging in fat talk with your girlfriends, talk about how amazing your boobs are or how hot your back is!
  • Put some make up on and highlight special features of your face (crazy pink lipstick, anyone?).
  • Simply say a few kind words of love to that body part you absolutely adore.
