Every day you live in diet prison is a day of your life you – willingly – waste.

Every day you CHOOSE to continue in pain is a day less of living your life to the full.

Every day you CHOOSE not to invest time, resources and bold decisions into the process of letting go of your need to be thin at all costs is a day you’re willingly allowing life to pass you by.

Don’t fool yourself: it’s a choice to work on this.
It’s a choice YOU have.
It’s a choice you’re making every day.

And every day that you’re not taking this on, you’re choosing misery over liberty.

This might hurt, but this one is on you.

Fully.
Completely.
Without a shadow of a doubt.

Every day you’re telling yourself that reading some blog posts, gaining some inspiration from books (but never ever acting on what you read), passing on the support that is easily available for you, you’re keeping yourself imprisoned.

And I’m not judging.
I’ve been there.

I thought I had time.
I didn’t have to change.
It really wasn’t that bad after all.

If only I would read a few more books,
If only I would go to the gym a few more times and lose a few more pounds,
If only I would wait a bit more,

things would definitely get better magically.

And maybe,
just maybe,
I could find a way of being thin and not being in pain.

I was choosing my weight over my life.
Over and over and over and over again.

And look, I don’t regret it.
I don’t believe in regrets.

But I sure would’ve loved to not have been in such immense pain for those 14 years.
It would’ve been so nice to not live for my body, to not be terrified of food, to be a normal eater and not live in pure anxiety.

It would’ve been brilliant.

But I chose thinness over life.

And you’re doing the same.

Let me be clear, you don’t have to BE thin in order to choose thinness over life.
The never-ending need to lose weight, fight food, your appetite and yourself IS YOUR choice over life.
The belief that you’ll only ever be whole if you can be thin is a choice that is keeping you from living life in the here and now.

And that is your making. Through and through.

Nobody is forcing you to stay stuck.
Nobody is telling you you cannot change.

If they do, they’re not deserving of being in your life.

But, let’s be honest.
It’s us who keep us down, in pain, miserable.

Everything else is just an excuse.
A lie you’re telling yourself in order to not have to change,
to not go where it’s uncomfortable.

The whole
I don’t’ have time
I don’t have money
I don’t have the support

is all BS.

If you really wanted it,
if you saw the urgency in it,
you’d have the time,
you’d have the money,
you’d have the support.

It’s all there.

But you have to be willing to stop lying to yourself and start stepping up for your healing, for your LIFE.

I know you know,
but do you really know?
that this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

This is not a game.
This is not something you can repeat over and over and over again.

This is your one wild life
and you are choosing to live it with breaks on.

You are choosing to let this precious life pass you by.
You are choosing to waste your life force on dieting,
on needing to be thin,
on exercising yourself into oblivion,
on hating your body with all the power you’ve got.

Why would you keep yourself so small?
Why are hurting yourself voluntarily?

Why would you choose the loooooong road over the quick and guided shifts you can have?
(And let’s be clear again, slow healing, the healing you think you can do by yourself is a choice of keeping yourself stuck too!)
Why would you choose misery over bliss?

Do you know?
Have you ever asked yourself?

Do you believe there’s something noble in suffering?
In walking this path alone?

Do you believe there’s something grand about not accepting help?
Do you still believe you’re not allowed to take up space,
to have a body?

Do you still believe that you’re not allowed to be happy?

I did.
Oh how I did.

After all, everyone is miserable.
So who was I to think that I could be happy and free?

And this is a belief I still carry with me,
a limiting thought that comes up to bite me in the butt from time to time.

And you know what I do to remove it from my neurology?

I ask for help.
I hire people to support me on this journey.

Why?
Because my life is too precious, too valuable to be wasted on such bullshit.
Because I know that my happiness is important.
I know that if I am free, my son will have a better life, thousands if not millions of people will be impacted in a positive way and – definitely not least – I will have a great life.

You are important.
You matter.
Your healing is crucial.

You are worthy of letting go of the need to be thin at all costs.
You are worthy of breaking free.

Now,
not 50 years from now.

Or do you really want to continue existing like this for a minute longer?

Is this really the choice you are willing to make?

I mean, really?

Think about it for a minute.

Freedom or this?
Freedom or this?
Freedom or this?

What’s there to think about?
What’s there to contemplate?
What’s there to wait on?

Take a hard, good look at the lies you’re telling yourself.
Take a hard, good look at the excuses you keep making up.
Take a hard, good look at the way you’re bullshitting yourself.

And then ask yourself:
is this really me?

Is this who I want to be?
Is this who I thought I was going to be as a child?

Is. This. Me?

Once you know your answer,
once you know your truth,
make the decision – and it really is just a decision –
to do what it takes to turn this around.

It’s never too late.
But it’s also never too early.

All you have to do is be willing to do what it takes.
