Chances are pretty high that you have dreams and goals for your future (if not; what’s wrong with you? 😉

Some are bigger, life-changing ones, some are smaller, but still super significant ones.

I consider falling in love with yourself, aka. being more balanced, having more play in your life, stopping the abuse of food and your body, being free and happy, a big, life-changing and life-saving goal. I mean, this sounds pretty awesome and who wouldn’t like to live a life like that?!

Now, loving yourself is not easy to achieve; yes, it’s not rocket science, but no, it doesn’t happen with the snap of a finger.

So, even if we’re super motivated on one day, it’s easy to fall off the wagon the next: maybe there is a comment a loved one made, maybe we see a TV show that bullies healthy bodies, maybe it is our own thoughts; something happens and we get discouraged.

It’s human. It happens to me. It happens to you. And it happens more often than we like.

BUT – and here comes the big BUT – if you have a personal WHY, you can tolerate any HOW; meaning if you know exactly why you want to fall in love with yourself,  you will be able ot push through those days, when all you want to do is go back to old destructive behaviors.

So, what is your why? How do you create a personal and compelling why that’ll keep you on track?

The trick is to get as personal and as detailed as possible.

Instead of saying: “I want to be healthy. I want to be happy. I want to be free”, be much more precise.

Say: “I want to be able to go out to dinner with friends without obsessing over my food. I want to look in the mirror and dig what I see. I want to be here when my daughter has her first child. I want to change the world with public speaking and in order to do that I need to be confident. I want to have a better relationship with my partner. I want a boyfriend and make love with being ashamed of myself.”

The more personal the better. The more real the better.

Take action now and write down your WHYs.

Read them when the HOW aka. the destructive behaviors is threating to take over and recite them as often as you can.

It’ll change the energy of your day, the way you will feel and the actions you will take.
