Swimsuit time is around the corner.

The best time to get serious about your beach body, shake up your booty, work on your aps and step into the lean mean calorie burning machine that you always knew you were.

Well, no, not really.

Yes, spring is here (at least for most of us) but that doesn’t mean that you’ll have to change anything about your body just please some advertisers who want nothing but your money.

Instead, this time of the year is a great opportunity to lock in your self-confidence and body-esteem in order to be free, at peace and truly in love with your life.

It’s in this season that our insecurities start to heighten even more than usual. We are super prone to dieting (maybe still less so than on January 1st…) and already fret having to wear shorter clothes and – yes – the bikini that everyone seems to be talking about.

That is why in this episode of the Escape Diet Prison Podcast, Deb, Leila and I talk about the many aspects of why wearing a bikini when you’re anything but a size 2 is still such a big issue.

We touch on the recent conversation around Amy Schumer’s swimsuit cover and how she was fat shamed by another woman, why it’s time for us women to stop beating each other up and instead love each other up and how you can learn to feel confident wearing a bathing suit – or not.

Plus, Leila shares some tips about how to make swimsuit shopping less agonizing.

In the end, it all comes down to this: you deserve to wear a swimsuit or a bikini – if that is what you want. If you don’t feel like spending time at the beach and you’d rather be active, then obviously, go have some fun doing that.

It’s all a matter of living by your own rules and learning to disconnect from society’s rules and pressures.

You cannot win – whether you’re thin or not.

You cannot win – whether you have abs or not.

You cannot win – whether you wear a bathing suit or not.

People will judge.

They will hurt.

They will look.

The thing is: it’s not about our bodies as thin people get looks too – and not always nice either.

The only way you can truly win is to simply be yourself – in all the ways.

Listen to the podcast and learn more about how to give up the notion that being thin and being fit is suuuuper noble and instead step into your true self – whatever that is.
