This is what I need to say:

Body-love.
Happiness.
Self-acceptance.
Unlimited bliss.

They’re not out there, flying around in the Universe,
Too far to ever reach.

This is what I need to say:

100 % joyful self-confidence.
Boundless body-trust.
The magic of the current moment.

They’re not just concepts.
Unreachable dreams.
Too big to ever hold on to.

They’re real.
They’re right here.
Churning within YOU.
Waiting for you to wake the fuck up.

This is what I need to say:

There is no more time to waste.
You belong to your body.
Your body belongs to you.

This is what is true and has always been true.

You and your body, you’re one.
You need to start acting like it.
You need to begin to CARE about your body’s happiness just as much as you CARE about your body’s THINNESS.

No. Not just as much.
WAY WAY MORE.

This is what your attention needs to be focused on.
This is what your heart needs to desire.
This is what your cognition needs to realize:

You can never ever win if you are AT WAR with yourself, your fat, your cellulite, your everything that’s not stick thin and super duper toned and everything else you think you must be and see.

Don’t continue breaking your heart.
You are heartbroken, aren’t you?

You are scared, aren’t you?
You are fed up with this bullshit that keeps you oh so stuck in life AND YET
AND YET
AND YET

YOU are NOT taking action.

Why is that?
Why are you choosing to stand still
when the entire WORLD is waiting for you to wake up, brave up and do what is right for you and your oh so magical body?

Why are you not doing what you’ve been saying you’d do for ages?

I know why, of course I do.
And so do you.

I also know that all your reasons are made up of lies you’ve been fed,
lies you’ve fed yourself,

the lies of the “terror of obesity” followers,
the lies of the “you’ll never be able to stop eating if you don’t control every bite you put into your mouth” brigade,
the lies of the “you’ll be worse off if you stop dieting and start eating more joyfully” crew,
the lies of the “thin is best” and “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” brainwashers,

the lies that have been disproven over and over and over again.

And yet,
and yet,
and YET,

you CHOOSE to ONLY look in the direction of a painful future.

Why is that?
Why are you getting triggered just reading this?
Why are you wanting to turn away when hope is imminent?

I know why, of course I do.
And so do you.

And this is what I need to say:

the fear of body-love blowing up in your face,
the fear of you hurting yourself by relaxing, by slowing down,
by RESPECTING the body you were GIVEN,
you’ve always had and will ALWAYS have,
the fear of messing it up is completely upside down.

You’ve got it wrong.

Body-love will NOT blow up in your face.

Body-hatred, body-shame,
those darn diets HAVE already blown up in your face,
they’re continuing to blow up in your face,
and they will forever and ever blow up in your face.

No matter how many times you try.
No matter how many different diets you choose,
no matter how very, very much you desire to cut off your fat,

body-shaming does not work.

It’s making you miserable and yet you choose to stay in it.

Every day.

You choose.
Over and over again.
To stay dejected.

Because why?
Because you may gain weight?
Because you may need to buy new clothes?
Because you may need to re-define what beauty really is?
Because you may have to get comfortable being uncomfortable for a while?

OR is it because you are actually scared of it WORKING and you HAVING to admit that your strong hold over the need to diet was nothing but an illusion?

Is it because you’re terrified of being HAPPY?
Of actually feeling comfortable in your body for once and you not knowing how to cope with not having to fight all day?
Of realizing – for real – that you are not BROKEN and are indeed completely, utterly, perfectly whole?

It’s a scary concept, isn’t it?

You being whole?
You being inherently good?
Your body being right?
Your body not being this evil thing that is just here to hurt, shame, trick and kill you?

So, this is what I need to say:
Everything changes.
Nothing stays the same.

Unless you try to FORCE it to.

And you can only do that with a sheer amount of pain and stubbornness that will suck you dry and break your heart.

Storms will still be happening.
Rain will still be falling.
Life will not always make sense.

And yet you’ll be able to love your body through this process.

You’ll be able to find happiness and self-acceptance.
The certainty that you taking care of yourself, respecting your body and trusting your wisdom will not hurt you,

but make you stronger, make you saner, make you feel whole and free for the very first time.

Don’t leave your body behind.
Don’t throw your happiness into a diet dump.
Don’t leave your life force at the gym.
Don’t allow the diet ads to cut into your self-confidence and your knowing that you. are. whole. No weight loss needed.

Body-love.
Happiness.
Self-acceptance.
Unlimited bliss.

They will not blow up in your face, make you sick, lose control over your life, abandon your spouse, kill your soul or make you be the loneliest person in the world.

Instead they will lift you up,
heal the wounds that have been with you for as long as you can remember,
reconnect you with those parts of you that need some love,
make relationships stronger and
allow you to step into the most powerful version of yourself.

In other words: Choosing body-trust and self-acceptance, fully, completely, will open up the space you need to live a boldly magnificent life.
